Winter Holidays
Another Byron Bay school holidays done and dusted - and this winter break was our busiest yet! We got to meet and create with so many new little makers, as well as welcome back plenty of our return crafters (you know who you are!). The sun was shining every single day - a total change from our Easter school holidays when we battled rain from start to finish - so the vibes were high and the K-pop demon hunters completely took over our playlists.
Over the two weeks, we hosted 11 different kids craft workshops (am I crazy… maybe?) including 4 brand-new activities this term. We also introduced our brand-new Mini Sessions at Art and Wine Co in Byron Bay, giving parents the perfect chance to drop the kids for a quick creative fix while they grabbed a coffee, did some shopping, or enjoyed a moment of peace in town.
If you’re looking for fun things to do in Byron Bay for the school holidays, our Craft Social workshops are the perfect mix of creativity and colour. We run boutique craft classes for kids in Byron Bay that are hands-on, social and always trending
What did we make this term?
- Eco Stone Trays
A crowd favourite. Kids poured, set, and decorated their own eco-friendly stone trays – some went bold with colour, others kept it minimal. Every tray was unique, and the “big reveal” moment when they popped them out of the mould is always the best.
- Beaded Bracelets & Sunglasses
From rainbow beads to sparkly charms, the kids designed their own bracelets, croc charms and sunnies that were as fun to make as they were to wear home. Personalisation was key – no two sets looked the same.
- Cream Glue Art
Our “over-the-top in the best way” workshop. Kids used colourful cream glue and an avalanche of gems and charms to decorate pencil boxes, heart shaped jewellery boxes, mirrors and hair clips. Think unlimited charms, maximalist crafting with maximum smiles. Every term we change the item that we decorate with cream glue, what should we decorate next term?
- Slime Making
Kids made three different types of slime! Not only that, they got to choose a theme and decorate their containers to match. This is always a popular class! The feedback we get from the kids is that they often make slime at home (if they are allowed) but it rarely turns into slime. So I love seeing their faces when they successfully make 3 different kinds of slime!
- Glitter Water Bottles
Equal parts practical and sparkly. Kids get to choose from our huge range of wraps, mix their own glitter and then we make them a personalised sticker with their name to take their bottle to the next level. This one has also been our most popular birthday party!
- Fairy Gardens
A chance to create a tiny magical world. First we put together and paint the fairy house and then kids layered pebbles, succulants, and little fairy friends into a scene they could take home and keep growing. This one is always a vibe and the fairy gardens are always so cute and unique.
- Clay Magnets
Our new Clay Magnets Workshop was such a hit! The kids got stuck right in, making as many clay magnets as they could in the three hours - everything from cute animals to some pretty funny (and slightly questionable!) designs. They shaped, painted, and varnished their creations before turning them into magnets to take home. Some of the finished pieces were seriously impressive - I was blown away by how talented and focused the group was.

- Mosaic Tray/Name Plate
We offered two different mosaic classes this holidays in Byron Bay. First was a tray and the second a round disc name plate. We use precut tiles with rounded edges so its super safe for the kiddos. They can just focus on their design and pattern. Then we grout and they are ready to take home same day!
- Denim Patches
This one is always a fave, we usually run it multiple times. Kids bring their own denim item from home to decoarte and we provide the patches, stencils and pens to fully customise their item of clothing. Most people bring denim jackets but some brings bags, hats or even shorts. The kids then get to decoate a pair of sunnies and while all this is going on we had Gilli in to do some hair braiding/styling.
- DIY Lipgloss and Charm Chain
This was one of our 1.5hr mini sessions. Kids made their own lipgloss and got it inside the tube. Then they made a super cute beaded chain and decorated their tube with stickers. This was a new class and everyones lip glosses turned out great!
